Who Are We?

The Senior Advocacy Coalition (SAC) comprises a group of leaders, community-based organizations, and patient and senior advocacy groups that provide services and programs for seniors in the Rio Grande Valley.

Currently, our group gathers more than eighty organizations that provide different types of support and services for seniors: advocacy and support groups, health education programs, and free meals, among others.

Our Mission:

To empower, engage with, and support older adults by advocating for their independence and access to resources that help them remain active, age safely, and thrive in their own communities!

Our purpose is to promote healthy aging in our area. We work every day towards supporting the development of vibrant communities where healthy food choices and active lifestyles are the easy and accessible choice.Creating this vibrant community most definitely cannot be accomplished without addressing the needs of our seniors and becoming an Age-Friendly Community.

We recognize the vital importance of addressing the needs of our aging population. We believe that through our combined efforts and shared expertise, we can develop a comprehensive support system that not only meets but also empowers them to lead fulfilling lives.
