The AARP Age Friendly Community Survey

This is a 6 month grant awarded to Healthy Communities of Brownsville, Inc. to conduct surveys and present findings about the quality of life of Brownsville’s senior residents. The survey closes on December 15, 2024 and the final report to AARP is due on December 31, 2024.    

An anonymous bilingual survey (via SurveyMonkey, email campaigns and paper questionnaires) was used to query residents.  Healthy Communities of Brownsville, Inc. staffers and volunteers conducted the survey at retirement community meetings, the Brownsville farmer’s market, senior exercise classes, parks, and various chamber of commerce and city events

This grant aims to use the respondent data to create an elder committee that informs and shapes services provided by the City of Brownsville and empowers the City Commission to improve the quality of life for our most vulnerable and underserved residents - our seniors.
