The Environment Trendbenders are a group of dedicated volunteers pursuing the environmental mission of HCB. Our vision is of a clean city wherein citizens feel a sense of pride, ownership and responsibility for their environment.
We are committed to working with the community to ensure that our environment can be sustained for future generations. Our mission is to promote awareness of local environmental issues and increase participation in recycling efforts.
Our goals are to:
1. Generate awareness about local environmental issues.
2. Increase participation in recycling efforts.
3. Make Brownsville litter-free.
Current projects: Participating in Brownsville city-wide clean-ups and educating citzens about recycling and litter prevention through public awareness campaigns.

Coloring Book has anti-littering message
This project reintroduces a coloring book that made its debut in 1987 but is as current today as it was then. Its message is simple: Everyone needs to do their part to keep litter off the streets. The project’s logic is only a little more complicated: “Teach the children and they will go home and teach their parents not to litter. ”
