Our mission is to develop and foster programs that promote social and political change through education, leadership and community action. HCB has begun to implement many community-inspired programs to improve the quality of life in our city.

Healthy Communities of Brownsville is a non-profit grassroots community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Brownsville. Our volunteers come from local hospitals, schools, universities, churches, businesses, and service agencies.

We are doctors, professors, nurses, parents, students, teachers, clergy, and business owners. We are all different, but we share a common vision – to work together to build a better Brownsville. We ARE Brownsville.

How to get involved

1. Join a Trendbender group from the list below and take action on improving our community.

2. Students can complete their community service hours with a special project designed to fit their abilities and schedules.
